A poem to keep with you when the nights are dark.
Red and yellow gold and brown,
The leaves are flying all around,
The fresh crisp morning, the glorious light,
The birds above us in full flight.

They seem to know that winter’s near
And hurry, hurry for they fear,
That there will not be much time left,
Before the autumn meets it death.

One final carpet laid before us,
Of golden colours just to cheer us,
A memory for the dark nights,
To keep us warm and our dreams bright.
