~I die better than anyone! Just watch me, love, I’ll show you how good I am at it!~
~I know this can be improved a lot, so critiques would definitely be appreciated! Thanks! And I'm only 13 sooo...there's my excuse if you find it horrible lol.~

The thorn is not choking me.
It only leaves lacerations
On flawless white, white palms.

These are the palms
That do not sweat in the face of ghosts;
No! No! I wave my hands at the ghosts,
To push their substance-less horror
Away from me.
I do not belong here;
There are ghosts at every turn,
And whenever they touch me
I feel their substance-less
Seep into my skin.
No! I refuse to stay!

And I do not falter when I
Am leaping from the balcony
Into a rose garden.
For all my life I have envied the birds
And long to join them,
If but for a moment.

Suicide? No dear, how silly!
I am flying, see? See how pretty I am,
How pretty I am!

See? I am a doll, aren’t I?
My lip is small and red,
Am I coquettish? Is my dress too low?
Does it matter? You love me don’t you?

Oh! Oh! Catch me, catch me!
I’m flying so terribly low!
But I love it, still I love it,
Dreams last do they not?
And the roses smell so sweet from here.

Now I fall.
No, I do not fall.
The earth leaps up for me,
And I meet it with a crash.

The thorns will choke me?
Nonsense, dear, whatever do you mean?

See? See? Love you were wrong.
They are not choking me.
They only mean to kiss me,
But it is so hard for them to be gentle.
No, no they lacerate me!
But I am still a doll aren’t I?
I’m still your pretty doll.

And I flew so amazingly didn’t I?
Don’t I fly so beautifully?
And I die just as well, you’ll see!
I die better than anyone!
Just watch me, love, I’ll show you how good I am at it!
Then I'll be a ghost like you,
And nothing shall ever tear us apart again!
Wouldn't you love that?
I could be your doll forever!
