Reflecting on the passing of time - & that nothing whatever lasts - everything changes |
I sit and think, I stand and stare, I eat and drink, I sleep and wake, I laugh and cry, I work and play - No matter what I do, Even if I do nothing, Just being alive, Time passes. I walk and run, I read and write, I love and hate, I give and take, I have pleasure, I have pain - Childhood days were long, Now my days seem short, Our busy world rolls on, Time passes. I use or waste my time, I create or I destroy, I hope and I despair - When things are going well, Coping with difficulties, Even when grieving, Time passes. I am happy, I am sad, I sing and I dance, I am in love, I am alone - Enjoying sunrise and sunset, Seeing children grow, Watching parents age, Time passes. I am healthy, I am strong, I am ill, I am weak, I live and I breathe - Such it has always been, With so much to do, In busyness and solitude, Time passes. I wonder about life, I marvel at nature, I watch the flowers bloom - When problems arise, During sleepless nights, Thinking about death, Time passes I like to watch the stars, I am soothed by the waves of the sea, I am cheered in the company of friends - Whether rain or sunshine, As the seasons change, Don't put off what you want to do, Time passes. I am grateful to be alive, I try not to have regrets, I do the best I can - There is no going back, The future is uncertain, There is only the moment, Time passes. |
