A girl with strange powers fights to save her sister, with the help of a Raven.
    Chapter Zero

There is a small building, in a small back alley, in a big city. It has a flashing, red neon light above the red door, bringing new life to the faded red paint of the building.  The sign reads ‘Card Reading’. Of course, all of the futures told in this building, by the fake psychics who work there, are nothing but a ploy for money, and never come true. All but one.

But one day, a curious teenaged girl noticed the building. She opened the door, walked through the curtain of beads, and sat down at the small round table. The psychic with frizzy brown hair explained that the future could be told with a simple deck of playing cards (which was the cheapest method of fortune telling, and the girl didn’t have much money with her).

The frizzy haired woman had the girl shuffle the cards, then pick one out of the deck without looking, and hand it to her so she could reveal the girl’s future. When the psychic saw the card, she couldn’t help but gasp slightly. In all the time she had worked here, she had never had a customer draw this card. The Ace of Spades. The Death card. After being told she will bring death in the future, the girl leaves, slightly scared.

When she returns home, 16 year old Zoe Sullivan realizes for the first time, while looking in the mirror, that her pupils are, in fact, in the shape of spades. And she begins to wonder if she is really death.

However, Zoe's destiny as told by the cards contradicts her destiny in her name. Instead of cancelling each other out, they have combined, making her a double threat to society. Zoe Sullivan, the Ace of Spades, can both give and take life.

~~One year later~~

Being a smart young woman, after one year, Zoe has finally figured out the meaning of her destiny. And she is beginning to use it.

She is armed with bladed cards, depicting the Ace of Spades. She travels and works with a raven, named Rave. Even though they are of different species, they can communicate, though no one knows how. Most likely, their souls are combined, and share the same destiny.

Zoe has traveled around, randomly going wherever she pleases, and there always seems to be someone there who needs her. She has saved several lives of innocent people, by using the powers she discovered in herself to sustain their lives long enough for help to arrive. She will also kill criminals who have done wicked things, and would never get the comeuppance. She insists she is simply rushing justice.

But recently, Zoe received a message at a hotel she was staying at, from an anonymous source known only as the Agency. Apparently, Zoe’s work as the Ace of Spades was putting some assassins out of business. The letter stated that Zoe's younger sister, Samantha, had been take prisoner. She would only be released if the Ace of Spades discontinued her work as assassin.

Zoe and her sister had always been close, and now, it looked like the only way to save her would be to ‘retire’.

But the Ace of Spades does not give up so easily.
