images surfacing over several days after reading a russian fairy tale
Licked by silver tongues of black fire
Rippling, shimmering over the coat of a galloping wolf at midnight
And draped in vertigris curtains of aurora
Lulled by intiricate puzzlesong of sodomite medieval monks
Dancing in cowls of coarse spun shadow
With gypsies playing flutes stolen from murdered snake charmers
Swept by the razors of witches brooms on the souls of the feet of sleeping clildren
Stars extinguished by the hoof strikes of Tartar warhorses
On prairies of hairy grasses fed by cold platinum blisters of the stings of wasps
Stream-fed maelstroms of thunderheads
Tangled like the roots of rivers that eat men like flies
The humming of the golden threads on velvet brocades on heaving white breasts
A liquid feline leap to a low branch of a dying cypress
The soft shrieking of love under the scalpel blue dome of heaven
Wrapped in a coat of worms
A splintered sword upon wet fallen leaves
A fearful clicking of molesteeth
The dance of sturgeon and crayfish
Gothic winds born in secret canyons
A slolemn aria in an opera of acrctic foxes
Diamonds stolen from the garments of a consecrated Madonna
The alien alphabet of the shells of turtles and the tongues of larks
Finely ground lenses from infernal telescopes of brass and water
Three singing oranges from a tree that only grows at night
A blanket of tiger skins trimmed in whales claws
Ghostly monkey bites on the nipples and lips of your sister and wife
Bands of babies dancing naked through fields of nettle and serpents
Beneath forty crows sleeping in a black wood
Moons of Jupiter aligned upon a sanguinary ecliptic
A single silver feather in the crown of a hummingbird
Mystic anagrams on goat hide written in poison ink
A string of silk from the harp of a vampire
Nine bamboo wands inlaid with crawling copper-sapphire symbols
Moccasins for the climbing of red flint cliffs
Complex aromatic oils distilled from a Siberian meteroite
Waxes of ancient ambergris
The left blue eye of a frozen cat
A golden brick from an Inca mountain palace
And my tunic of bat fur and roses
