The Color of God’s Eyes By Richard Vance God’s thoughts turn to green, A glance, and all at once, Creation turns to mountain pasture places Elegant and strong, So Alive for me! A soothing voice speaks out, Green turns so many shades of green, A breath of life, angelic songs, That lovely smell of fresh cut grass, It feels so sweet beneath my feet, It calms my soul. Distant hills and valleys ring With living hues, so soft, so lush, And in the sunshine I can feel a wisp Of pastel breath against my cheek, A warm and loving touch, It almost makes me cry. The mighty oaks and pines stand in awe And silhouette against the sky. While so many perfect shamrocks Meld with common earthly shades, And paint the world with simple life, To decorate for heaven’s plan. Once again I stand alone, I feel the green surround my heart, Nature’s love is oh so clear With happy, tingling, energy about, I breath in all of earth’s life force, So sparkling clean, It makes the heartbeat slow It feeds my soul A spring time rain begins to fall So gently from the sky, Those emerald kisses lick my lips And mother nature’s sighs are heard on high, All plants, All living leaves on trees respond, The grasses dance and wave All together moving to a simple beat, In Harmony with the wind. The green comes through in royal robes And sometime just a hint in angels wings, And often thought to be The color of God’s eyes. Green. |
