An A-Z poem I wrote for a special someone...
Ah ...
But you frustrate me with your
Crafty smile and autumn eyes.

Don’t turn away from me.

Each glance and touch sends
Freefalling shudders down my spine.

Granted—
How I wish to hate you
Insult with a coquettish smile
Jeer with a condescending glance—but I

Know me.

Love, you contain
Mysteries to be solved
Nostalgic memories to be unlocked
Odium turned to adoration. You are

Perfection
Quirkiness and fun -- no.
Really, you aren't perfect.

Selfish and
Temperamental are you.

Ugly is your frown
Vulcan around the eyebrows
Withering in glance,
Xeric in scowl.

Yet when you smile—and smile and smile—
Zion above! I forget your imperfections.
