This story is about a young woman by the name of Freya, launched into darkness.
She layed her head down on her desk, the headache she had been fighting to get rid of didnt seem to be dying as she had hoped. She reluctantly lifted her head off of the desk and got up to get her boss coffee, seeing as that is what everyone kept telling her she was there for. She brushed the auburn curl that had fell into her eyes away, with a sigh she brought the steamy liquid to his office. Knocking politely and waiting for permission to enter, she shifted her weight a few times before she heard a gruff
"Come in"
She twisted the door nob, feeling the familier click she pushed the heavy door open. She faked a smile and set the mug on his desk "Your coffee sir!" she said brushing off her  white button down shirt sub conciously.  He looked up at her from his thick rimmed glasses, he wasnt a tall man, but he wasnt short either. He was balding and his jet black hair was thinning rapidly. He had the sharpest, coldest eyes that made you feel like you were a block of ice if you dared lock eyes with him. He nodded and shot her a quick smile
"Thank you Freya"
he said before going back to his stack of papers that he was attending to. She nodded and walked out, making sure to close the door carefully and not accidentally slam it like she had done on occasion. Going back to her desk she stumbled on a wire that was going across the narrow hallway. She cursed under her breath and started to walk again, her ankle gave out for a second and she yelped in pain. "Not again" she mumbled, limping back to her spot in the front of the main office. She sat down with a sigh of relief to take the weight off her now injured ankle. She tapped the mouse quickly, turning the screen back on. She leaned farther back into her chair and proceeded to finish the game of solitare she had been playing about an hour ago. She had only won a few times, which irritated her to no end. The game always seemed to stump her turning her creamy skin on her cheeks cherry red and her pale blue eyes burn in fury. She had a short temper and was easily irritated by the littlest things, which only made her even angrier. With a groan she closed down the game and crossed her arms huffing and glaring daggers at the computer screen.

"Stupid thing, it cheats I sware"
she murmered before a woman came from the hallway on the right, walking towards the main console that Freya was sitting at. She had long, straight, black hair that went just below her shoulders. She had perfect green eyes, tan, exoctic skin that caused Freya to quake in jealousy. The woman was a spitting image of how she always wanted to look since she was a young child.
"Not talking to yourself again, are you Freya?"
she asked in a silky voice. Freya held back the glare she desperately wanted to shoot at her
"No, not this time Raven"
the woman smiled non chalantly and crossed her arms leaning on one leg. Freya looked down to see she was wearing the same black, shiny, stiletto heels that she was envious of.
"Well, I need you to make a few phone calls for me"
Freya sighed heavily
"I thought I was only here for coffee" she said, locking eyes with her. Hiding the fact that being in her presence greatly intimidated her. Raven rolled her eyes,
"Oh stop being inmature and do your job" she said locking her eyes with more intensity than Freya could even dream of mustering. Freya groaned and turned back to her computer, defeated.
"Fine, leave the list on my desk" Raven scoffed, but did as told. Freya waited until the sound of the heels clicking on the granite floor couldnt be heard.  Her body loosened and she sighed leaning back in her chair cupping her face with her hands. She stayed like this for a moment before sitting up and looking at the list, she called each and every one of them canceling whatever appointments Raven had with them and moving them to the dates that she had written down for her. When she was finally done she clicked her nails against the desk, waiting, desperately wanting the last 10 minutes of work to go by quickly. Eventually the clock ticked by until it hit six 'o' clock on the dot. With a spurt of energy she shot out of her chair, only to squeal in pain at putting weight on her ankle. She grumbled and grabbed her purse, and carefully started out the big glass door into another hallway. She sighed and turned left to find the elevators, she pressed the button and waited a good 3 minutes before the elevator docked.  She stepped inside with a huff. "Why do these things gotta be so slow" she mumbled before pressing "G" the garage level. No one got on the elevator which puzzled her, but she brushed it off. The building was very high, infact it was one of the highest in downtown Dallas. When she was on the 15th floor the elevator stopped. The lights started to flicker and she backed up until her back hit the wall. Her breathing quickened when the lights finally failed and everything went pitch, jet, black.
