As I struggle to break free, I fall to the ground. The wrist that was gripped to my arm was now let go. Before I had time to think I got up and ran. I ran faster, hearing them catch up. I pushed a door open. I came to a stop, not know knowing what way to go. I chose left. It came to a deadend. Trying not to panic, and not knowing how much time I had left, I ran into the only room with the lights on. Mr. Burgus's room. Hoping he won't turn me in, I went to the window that lead to his office." Maya, why are you in her...." he started to say, but I cut him off. " I don't need to be here, i'm NORMAL" I said. " I won't help you escape if thats what your wondering" he said. Desprate to make this work I repeated " I am NORMAL, you of all people should know that" My eyes got big as I realized a gurad was at the door. Surprisingly, Mr. Burgus signaled for me to go to his office door. I did, moving as fast as I could. He opened the door and let me in. I squeezed myself between two filing cabnits. I heard the door open, and slam shut. I held my breath, trying not to give away my hiding spot. As the guard and Mr. Burgus was mumbling back and forth, I was running my hands through the back off my black spiky hair. I took my finger and ran it through my bangs, that came close to my chin. While doing this, I was planning my escape into the world, my heart was beating fast to that thought. I realize that the voices are gone. " I can't believe i'm doing this" Mr. Durgus said while helping me out. " We've got to hurry, my next class starts in an hour" Mr. Burgus said.
