Freedom's Price


Do you look upon the moon and stars as thoughts fly through your head?
Do you consider the wars fought and how much blood was shed?
Do you remember the men that gave their lives to keep this country free?
Do you even stop to think that our freedom isn’t free?

Do you think of the families, depressed and sad?
Do you think of the wives and children who have lost a husband and dad?
You say that war should not happen, but what you do not see,
Many men are willing to die for our country because freedom isn’t free.

Do you pray for the men who have fought in war?
Do you think of the veterans who aren’t here any more?
Do you think of the hell that our soldiers have seen?
Do you think of the colors of our flag and what they really mean?

Red symbolizes the blood that was shed.
Blue is the tears being cried.
White is the memory of the veterans who have died.
Do you think of our country’s freedom and how it came to be?

All paid with their blood, many with their lives because freedom isn’t free.
