The effects of my childhood
Frightened Child

Tormented and haunted by my past
Wondering how long it will last
A lonely frightened child afraid of the night
Praying for someone to show me the light

Suddenly a scream from deep within my soul
There's no one to turn to, nowhere for me to go
Lonely, frightened, holding my teddy bear
Left on this earth with no one who cares

I hear footsteps slowly coming down the hall
I'm trapped in this room within these walls
I feel a teardrop running down my face
Oh god how I wish I was in another place

Somewhere far away from this nightmare
Somewhere where people really do care
Trapped here with no way out
"Damn it!" I scream, I shout

I wish that someone would help me
I wish for someone to set me free
I'm just a frightened child lost in the night
Waiting for someone to show me the light
