Bet you didn't know there was more than one way to walk.
Bushwalking: This is the purpose of exploring and enjoying the scenery. It is also called hiking, cross-country hiking, or bush bashing.

Racewalking: Also called speedwalking, this is a special long distance race event in athletics. This is the kind of walking we were doing in the activity on Friday.

Hillwalking: The recreational practice of climbing in hilly terrain. Also referred to as fell walking.

Voltsmarching: A form of non-competitive fitness walking that developed in Europe.

Nordic walking: A sport considered walking with modified ski poles. Also called “ski walking.”
