Metaphor

In the city, where

The wind creates new life;

The leaves dance around to escape the chill,

The grass stands its ground

And the flowers release their petals off into the world,

As so many parents often do—



In the city, where

Hot Java ignites the senses;

The bundled people rush through crosswalks,

The fog wisps from their mouths

And car windows bring smiles with graffitied

"I heart u!"s—



In the city, where

Castles in the sky bear curious Knights;

They march forth on Silver Steeds,

Catapulting drops of rain that fall off umbrellas

And latch onto snowflakes that melt when

They reach warm skin—



The Kamikaze soldiers seep into our

Souls and tell us to look up,

At the sky—

Where there are no limits!



In the city, where

You must keep moving to stay where you are;

The sun silhouettes the tall skyscrapers

And frames a tangible Castle—

One that can be breached or won;

One that can give hope to a generation—



In the city, where

Nothing is impossible.
