The love of a Mother for her child.
As I sit on the edge of your bed,

I brush the hair from your eyes and kiss your forehead,

Softly so you don't wake up.

It's quiet and dark in your room,

The only light is the moon,

shining in through the window.

My eyes closed, I pray,

"Dear God, Bless my daughter this and every day."

" Let her always be happy",

"Watch over her when we are apart".

" She's such and good and honest, pure heart:,

" untainted by the world."

" Thank you for her love and her sweet, innocent soul",

" She brings me joy I don't deserve, ten fold".

Gently I kiss your cheek,

Wipe a tear from my eye,

Your growing up so quickly, I sigh,

Bigger even by morning.

One last look back at you, my sleeping angel,

as I walk toward the door,

I realize life's so fragile.

Quickly now, before you awake,

Shut the door and blow you a kiss,

Eyes closed I send my most sincere wish,

That I may love you as well as you have loved me,

Good night sweet heart,

Sweet dreams.

Love,

Mommy
