Ghost

Like a insect trapped in amber,
like an emotion suspended in time,
like a shadow in the light,
like a memory that won't die.

Like a reflection from shattered glass,
like a whisper in the night,
like a scar on the skin,
like an image in the mind.

Like a haunting echo,
like a crystal in water,
like a book with no words,
like a leaf in the wind.

Like a breeze you can feel,
like a spider web in the dark,
like a dead tree in the forest,
like a mirage in a desert.

Like a ghost, so am I.
