A poem about a boy who awakes from a dream to a horror than he decides not to face.
I lay upon my comfy bed,
Then place down my sleepy head.
Before I knew all had vanished.
All the evil was now banished.
All was happy, safe and fun,
Committed crime is never done.
I sit upon an old oak tree,
As the fairies talk to me.
I love this little world of mind,
Here joy is not so hard to find.
.
Instantly the fairies went,
As my dream shook and bent.
I woke up within my bed,
And looked around in awful dread.
Everywhere there was fire,
And yet I still began to tire.
“Chris where are you” mum began to scream,
But I decided I preferred my dream.
I rolled back over to shut my eyes close,
And felt the heat tickle my toes.
Into dream land I did fly,
I didn’t even have to try.
A blinding light came to sight,
And in the fire in that night,
A smile crossed my face,
But never did they find a trace.
