Seeing is believing! This poem talks about my thoughts and my experiences. |
Calm, cool and collected Are what I feel when I'm here. Without breaking the surface, I know that's where I belong. The water, gentle and warm, Is the everlasting blood of life. As I make my way further down, The pressure, reminds me of a time When I had to present a book report In front of the class.... Uneasy, nervous and scared of what Others had thought. But looking all around, In this silent world, Words meant nothing. Swimming through the skyscrapers Of coral, The different architecture amazes Not only me, but the fish all around. It's like going to a new country And interested in their way of life. As I journey pass the fathom Forest of seaweed, It's wall-like structure is a Monument of years and safe haven. Just when I thought that things Couldn't get any better, A school of jacks swim by. I try to keep up with them But the imaginary bus of jacks wait For no one. They continue on until they disappear In the shadows. I'm running out of air now, Is this how it feels before someone Passes on? I start to go up, Slowly reaching the surface, I break the underwater universe With air and the sound of my dad Calling out to me. With a smile on my face, He helps me board the boat. The images on my mind Will carry on like the ocean. It's profoundness is like my thoughts, Only I can see it but yet, Things rapidly change... just Like the tides. |
