An horrifying insight into the mind of a winner......
Her joy lights up her eyes and makes her smile,
I feel something claw my guts inside.
She walks around humming tunes all day,
And you see her aura glowing.

Through red filled gaze, I see her float,
I see her happy face.
Then I see them broken, bleeding and crying,
The beast within me roars.

She looks at me, I smile politely,
Her face beams with pride.
She turns back to her comrades, all praising her victory,
The struggle within me grows.

I watch her float, I watch her smile,
I see her alone thinking.
I walk to her and show her my card,
I see her blinking in wonderment.

I walk to our meeting point casually and leisurely,
Business will come in its own time but pleasure cannot wait.
I see her staring up at the sky, her back towards me.
I whisper, “Winner”, she stiffens and slowly turns to me.

She sees my red filled eyes and screams but no one will hear her.
The beast within me lunges and roars, I shudder, in pleasure.
She stumbles away from me and wildly looks about,
In the darkness, she sees no salvation, only the red full moon.

I grab her wrist, she shrieks into the night,
Struggling to be free.
I grip her neck, she sputters and chokes and her tear filled eyes beseech me.
I loosen my grip and slowly smile, she falls gasping and panting.

The night goes on but we see naught,
Our gazes are filled with the other.
I see her aura glowing brightly,
This time in fear.

I see her parents wailing and crying,
Their beautiful child gone.
I look into the casket and she rests prettily,
She wears a red coloured frock.

I beam in pleasure and float in happiness,
I am now the “Winner”.
I accept the award and mourn the life lost,
She surely deserved better.

I slowly walk around, everyone smiles,
And praises my victory.
I stand alone and look up into the sky,
Her wailing echoes within me.

The beast within me roars in triumph,
I see everyone clearly.
No more red filled eyes and bloodied faces,
As I am now the “Winner”.
