Written on a rainy day that just wasn't too good

Let the Rain Fall

I’m all alone in my room, in the dark,
Listening to just the beat of my heart.
The rain ripples the puddles on the ground,
I watch it fall without making a sound.
Most don’t like the rain; they think it’s gloomy.
In my mind, the rain’s a comfort to me.
To me, the drops represent different tears;
They come for different joys, or different fears.
My response to the rain is “Let it all fall.”
“Fall from the roof, trickle down the wall.”
I want the drops to cover my face,
So when I’m crying, I’m not a disgrace.
For when the rain falls, and my mascara runs,
Nobody can tell if what I have done
Is let all the rain fall and mat my hair,
Or cry my heart out ‘till there’s nothing there.
So let the rain fall and cover my eyes,
So that way nobody can tell I’ve cried.
