what happens when you leave your garage door open
The Mystery

I keep my car in the garage and obviously keep the garage door shut. There have been a few times where we forgot to shut the garage door, and the door was opened all night. I always thanked the Lord for His protection when I realize we did that.

The other morning we went to get in the car and I thought the car door seemed ajar some but didn’t think much about it until I noticed the garage door was open. I asked Sara, "Did you open the garage door?" No, she didn’t. So the garage door was left open all night. I thought my goodness, we have to watch that.

Then Sara went to get a cd out of the glove compartment and they weren’t there! We have 2 full cd cases we kept in the glove compartment. We talked about where they could possibly be … neither one of us brought them into the house. We then began to think that someone actually took them. Who would do that? I’ve never had anything stolen. We checked the rest of the car and found that her bible was missing. Strange. Very, very strange.

When we returned home, we checked the garage. Nothing else was taken. We were both a bit shaken thinking who would come in and just take the cd’s and her bible. I prayed … "Lord, you know where our stuff is, so use the music and the bible to touch someone’s life (our cd’s are Christian music). And also, make the person who stole the stuff feel bad and return everything!"

I am still baffled by this. I trust the Lord to keep his angels around us and around our home. I thank Him that nothing else was taken. Sara even pointed out, "Mom, they could have come in the house."

I continue to thank the Lord for His protection knowing how vulnerable we all are. I will not allow anything to cause fear in me because I know He is always with us.

"For he will command his angels concerning you to guard in you in all your ways." Psalm 91:11
