Rick looked at the calendar – but how could he have forgotten? It was their birthday. Him and Emily. Both 21 today – WOO HOO! Legal adults at last. I know what I’ll do…I’ll plan a picnic. Won’t that be great? I think Emily will really enjoy that.

Rick went about his plans. He knew of a meadow that had a babbling brook in it, near a forest. Provisions, he thought, so he went shopping…three packs of hot dogs, three packs of buns, chili, marshmallows, beer, a bundle of firewood, a lighter, and a pot and spoon for the chili. She’s gonna love this!

Rick gave Emily a phone call. “What are you up to today?” “Not much, just hanging out, maybe play on the ‘puter a bit.” “You DO know what today is, don’t you?” “Oh Rick, I hadn’t realized!” “How about a picnic. After all, this is a milestone day?” “I’d love it.” “I’m on my way, then.”

Rick arrived at Emily’s house to pick her up. He pulled up to the curb and she came running out and got in his car. “I’ve got everything we need in back, and I know the perfect place. Let’s go.” “Yes, let’s.”

Rick drove along until he began reaching the back, country roads. It was the Spring, and all of the trees were in full blossom. He found an inlet near the meadow, so he pulled over and parked. “We’ll have a short walk from here.” Rick grabbed the shopping bags from his trunk. As they started out towards the meadow, they could hear a rumbling of thunder. “I sure hope it doesn’t rain on us” said Rick.

Rick led Emily towards the meadow. They hopped across the stepping stones leading over the brook. They walked around for a while until they found the perfect spot. When they had picked just the spot, they began setting up. Rick took the blanket from his backpack and began spreading it out on the ground. It was then that they felt the first sprinkles of rain. “We’d better head for cover in the forest, before this picks up.” They gathered their things and started towards the forest.

After they walked into the forest for some distance, they spotted the perfect place. A cluster of trees had grown together at the top, forming a natural, dry, tented area. They reached it just in time, as the rain was beginning to pick up. Emily spread the blanket out under the trees, and Rick began building a small fire near the opening of the inlet.

Panicky thoughts began to run through Rick’s mind. The rain was really picking up at this point, he had only brought a small bundle of firewood, and the brook was rising quickly. Get a grip, Rick, he thought. This is a forest, you can find some more wood. “I have to go find more firewood before it gets too wet to burn. Emily, you can take your jacket off and put it near the fire to dry it and get it warm.” Rick put the hood of his jacket up and walked off, hopeful that he could find something suitable.

“Rick, what on Earth do you think you’re going to do with those” said Emily, as she laughed heartily. Under each arm, Rick drug two dead trees behind him. “It’s raining out here, and I don’t want to have to go on another wild goose chase. These were hard enough to find. Luckily, these had just fallen.” The fire was beginning to dwindle, so Rick put the ends of the trees into the fire.

Rick then walked to the end of one of the trees and broke off two small branches. He took them to the edge of the inlet, took out his pocket knife, and began whittling the bark off the ends. “What are you doing?” asked Emily. “I’m making us some sticks to roast our hot dogs.”

When Rick finished with the sticks, he walked into the inlet, took off his wet jacket and tee shirt, and laid them next to the fire to dry. Emily looked up at his bare chest and broad shoulders, and blushed. As he walked past her, she caught a whiff of his scent – his cologne mixed with sweat. Emily began to look at Rick in a different light. He sat down next to her, and said “how about lunch now?” He smelled so good, and the sight of his rippling muscles caught her attention. “Sounds good, I’m hungry.”

They began unpacking the provisions from the cooler. Emily laughed. “Why did you bring so much food? Did you think we were going to be out here all night?” “I thought you might be hungry, I sure know I am” said Rick as he looked down at Emily sitting near the fire. She had taken her jacket off, and her tank top was still a little wet. He could catch a slight glimpse of her through her top, and caught a whiff of her perfume. Her eyes glimmered with her laughter, and he suddenly realized how beautiful she was.

Rick stood up, beginning to slide hot dogs down on the tips of the sticks for roasting, when he noticed the brook. It has risen out of it’s banks, and the stepping stones are no longer in sight. It was then that he realized that they were stuck there. He decided not to tell Emily, there’s no point in worrying her.

Rick put the pot of chili near the fire, gave Emily a hot dog stick and a beer, and sat down next to her with his own. They sat next to each other, roasted their hot dogs, and had their lunch.

After they cleaned up and put the leftovers away, Rick decided that he shouldn’t keep the truth from Emily any more. “Emily, there’s something I have to tell you, and I don’t want you to panic. We’ll be okay.” “What is it, Rick” she said, uneasily. ‘The brook has risen, the stepping stones are covered, and I’m afraid that we’re stuck out here for a while. We can make a break for it when the brook goes back down.” Rick looked at his watch. “It’s 4:30. I’m going to have to go look for more firewood. It doesn’t look like we’re gonna get out of here before dark. We might even be stuck out here all night.” “At least we have plenty to eat and drink” joked Emily, and laughed. Rick caught that glimmer again. “I’ll try to be back as soon as I can. Keep moving those trunks into the fire as they burn. 20% chance of rain, my ass.”

For the next while, Rick dragged firewood to their site, and Emily kept the fire burning. At dusk, Rick was on his way back with the last load of the wood. It was getting dark fast and he could hear the roar of the brook, and knew that it has gotten even higher. When he got back, he told Emily that they’re definitely stuck for the night. “Well, we’ll just have to make the best of it” she said. Rick went over and sat down next to her, and said, “yeah, I guess you’re right.”

They sat next to each other near the fire. Emily could smell Rick’s heady scent. She laid her head on his shoulder. Oh, how his skin felt so warm and smooth. She couldn’t help herself. She put her arm around him and put her hand on his other shoulder. She let out a little sigh as she began massaging his shoulder.

Rick couldn’t believe it. He could still smell her perfume, her hair on his shoulder felt silky smooth, and her hand on his other shoulder felt soft and warm. He put his arm around her waist and laid his head on her shoulder. They sat like that for a while, holding each other.

Rick decided to take the chance…he raised his head and placed a light kiss on Emily’s neck. Her skin was so warm and velvety smooth. She laid her head back, allowing Rick better access to her warm skin. Her breathing started coming faster. Rick’s pulse began to race, as he continued kissing up and down Emily’s neck. Emily began running her hand up and down Rick’s back. Rick turned towards Emily, lifted her chin, and placed a light kiss on her lips.

Their kisses began soft and gentle, but built in passion. Emily ran her hands up and down Rick’s back, as he held her tight to him. He traced kisses down her neck and shoulders, down to her collarbone. She began to run her fingers through his hair.

Rick pushed his hands underneath Emily’s top and ran his hands over her bare back. She laid her head on his shoulder, wrapped her arms around him, and let out a little sigh. She began kissing his neck, and he sucked in his breath.

When Rick reached Emily’s shoulder blades, he slowly inched his way around to her breasts. “Oh”, Emily sighed, as Rick’s hands grazed over her hard nipples. He cupped her breasts and began kneading them. She threw her head back, sighing, “oh yes”. Rick let out a little growl. He slid his hands down and slowly pulled her top off, exposing her bare breasts. He leaned down and took one of her hard nipples into his mouth. It felt hot and soft in his mouth. “Yes, Rick” she sighed, as he leaned back with her.

He continued sucking and nibbling on her nipples, his heart pounding, as she sighed “oh yes, Rick”. She could feel his hardness pressed against her leg. He kissed her check, then moved his mouth over her ear and whispered, “Emily, do you want me?” “Oh yes Rick, more than anything.” Rick leaned up, knelt over her, and began to unbutton her shorts.

Rick unbuttoned and unzipped Emily’s shorts, and slid them off her, exposing her lacy panties. He gazed down at her beauty for a moment, taking in a deep breath, then slid her panties off her. She was gorgeous. He was insane with desire for her. He stood up and undressed himself, freeing his hardness.

Emily laid back and gazed up at him – his broad shoulders, muscular chest and arms, and impressive manhood. A little sigh escaped her lips. “Come to me” she whispered.

That was all Rick needed to hear. He went to her, knelt between her legs, and laid upon her. He slid his hardness slowly into her. “Oh Rick” she cried out as he slid deep within her. They made passionate love for hours, ending up falling asleep in each other’s arms.

They woke early in the morning, still in each other’s arms. “Well, I guess we had better get ready to go” said Rick, as he started to sit up. Emily grabbed his arm, saying “wait Rick, there’s something I should tell you, about last night.” Rick was caught off guard. “Emily, what is it?” “Well, I don’t know quite how to say this, but I had never…”

“I’ll let you in on a little secret” said Rick. “Neither had I.”
