My Christmas memories over the years.
I am 60 years old. Somedays, I feel so old. I have so many Christmas memories. I thought I would share some here.

I remember getting a Chatty Cathy Doll and Barbie Dolls, her sister Skipper, Doll Cases and clothes and other gifts like cologne for Christmas but Christmas isn't about gifts. They are nice, too. I love the fudge my mother makes. It is the best anywhere. Gingerbread Men Cookies. The smell of ginger at Christmas. I love the smell of Gingerbread Men baking.

Dad was in the Air Force and we lived in Arkansas one year when I was a teen-ager. My grandparents came to visit and bought Fluffy, their calico cat that I had always loved. I spent every summer with my grandparents and five years there off and on when Dad was in Viet Nam so Fluffy was a big part of my life. I had no idea they were bringing Fluffy when they come to visit. I was so happy to see Fluffy and she was glad to see me. She slept with me on the roll-away bed that week. I was happy to see my grandparents. Sadly, my grandparents and Fluffy are no longer with us but I treasure their memory.

I remember a real neat store in Tacoma, Washington at Christmas. There was a white mermaid made out out of white fiber material at the front of the store. There was a carousel of white reindeer with Santa in the middle. The reindeer were made out of white material but Santa was all colorful in his red suit and black boots. The carousel went around and it was a pretty sight to behold.

I remember leaving sugar cookies and milk out for Santa. I always thought that he was eating them. Some of the best Christmases were spent with my son when he was a little boy. Before we passed out gifts, he would read a story about Santa and talk about Jesus' Birthday and the first Christmas. I would love to see how he enjoyed all the toys he would unwrap.

Now, at Christmas, my son is here with his wife and my parents and my husband's father sadly passed away, so Christmas will be minus someone we love this year.
We hope to continue the tradition.

I love to decorate with Rudolph items from the movie that comes on every year. I have a pet hotel, Barbie's pink Victorian House, Avon Victorian House, Santa and reindeer figurines, a stuffed bear, Teddy Bears and a porcelain Toy Factory that lights up and little dolls, teddy bears, boats, and toy soldiers come out. I love putting animated deer and Santas by the tree. I also have light up Christmas angel dolls that I love to decorate with. I love to play Christmas music by Bing Cosby, Celine Dion, Glen Campbell and the old favorites on Christmas CD's of holiday classics.

On the tree, I have ornaments of lavender and purple, Scarlet O'Hara, Rudolph, Disney Princesses, angels, wolves, dolls and Victorian ones. I love Christmas. I love my white tree which looks like snow is on it. You can do so many things with a white tree to make it look beautiful.

Christmas. I love all the turkey dinners, Christmas fudge, cookies, decorations, Santa, reindeer and even the snow. If I don't have to go to work or anywhere, it can snow all it wants. Christmas is the time of year for new dreams, hopes, peace, love and a new beginning. I hope Christmas means the same to you. Merry Christmas to everyone this year.
