Blind have I become,
To every gift You gave.
Washed are my hands,
with sins so great.
No word of good,
Emerges from my lips.
The light of goodness,
Erased from my face.
I try to escape,
To reach out to You, my Lord.
But again and again,
I am pulled back by this evil world.
Each time the call of prayer chimes in my ears,
It brings to me the fear of the Day,
When I will face You, my Lord,
With nothing good in my record to lay.
I fail in front of Your love.
I lose in front of Your mercy.
Cursed should I be,
To become the prey to hell fire,
As, so unfaithful have I become to Your love.
On that day I might face You,
With my empty hands,
But I would present to You, my Lord,
My love for you, so great,
Which forms a speck of light,
That shines in my heart so dark.
My Lord, with my head bowed,
I confess to You my endless sins.
With all my heart I say,
I fear your punishment,
But more than that,
Is my fear,
My fear of being hated by You.
