Just another love poem while waiting for my wife to wake up.
If You Were

If you were lying on the beach,
I’d gather up the sand.
And save each grain like memories,
My queen bestows her land.

If you were walking down the hall,
I’d linger by the door.
As beating in my chest does rise,
A quiet lion’s roar.

If you were here before me now,
I’d wonder if I dream.
Blue eyes captured by an Angel,
By loveliness esteem.

If you were only with me now,
I’d smother you with charms.
We’d laugh, and kiss, and reminisce,
You’d press within my arms.

But now, alone I wait for you,
Last night I spent with thee.
Recalling, wanting more than thoughts,
To share sunrise with me.
