Here's to my Heroes

Here's to all the people
The folks who've helped to shape me
I hope that I will make you proud
Of all that you have made me

First here's to my family
For dealing with my trouble
All the times you heard my cry
And came running on the double

You've stood beside through thick and thin
And shown me that you care
If I ever needed anything
I knew that you were there

Next here's to my friends
For being so true blue
And for putting up with all the things
That I say and do

Despite my quirks you stuck around
And lent a helping hand
No matter how hard I fell
You always helped me stand

Here's to all my teachers
For helping me to see
Showing me the great wide world
And all that I could be

You opened the door to knowledge
and showed me how to learn
The desire you created in me
Will always and forever burn

And here's to all the random people
Whose names I may not know
You came into my little world
And somehow helped me grow

You may not have stayed too long
But you have made your mark
In your own way you may have been
My candle in the dark

There are so many people
Who have helped to shape the man
That sits here knowing all the while
My heroes you all stand
