The feelings of a parents lost love when a child leaves the nest and doesn't return love. |
"A Part Of Me" A part of me I give to you, To give you strength, in all you do. I give you character and integrity, So you will respect the less fortunate you see in me. The intelligence you display, comes from within, If you look deep within yourself, it comes from your kin. I have shown you love, and for all that you can be, I have protected you, kept you from harm, So you remain free. You have left the nest, only to fly on your own, You left with the assurance that you could come home. I miss you always and the special person you are, Cause you don't call or come over, And a part of me is not that far. Until we're together again, and back in our home, I'll remember what I gave you, And I won't be alone. I gave you the wisdom to know right from wrong, I pray you'll keep me in your heart, Just like a pleasant song. The hurt and pain that come like a blazing fire, Gets drenched from my rain, And my only desire. To always have your Love, Close within my heart, And never feel the pain, Of the times we did part. You can never run away from that which you are, Cause within you there I remain, Not too far. When a part of me comes into your heart, That part of me, is who you are. Written By: David E.
