Insipred by a divergence of two close friends' philosophies.
Friendship and strife go together in stride
But the winds of change blow right through us
Change your way of thinking; rid yourself of pride
it is a small god, and corrosive like rust.

You know my name and house number
you've been there many times
And when you made a terrific blunder
I forgave you for your crimes.

Now i've waited for your wounded pride to heal
yet your message is harmful and still confusing
I've given up on sitting down to your good meal;
It only tastes good if the delicacies are wounding.

I see that your table is finally set;
I would have gotten out long ago
Playing fifth wheel to a broken quartet,
Your ideals have stripped me to the bone.

You've taken me places that I wanted to be away from
Those hands you have don't feel more than mine
I never was one to exist inside a scrum
of formation and existence, a vacuum of time.

Now i've waited for your wounded pride to heal
yet your message is harmful and still confusing
I've given up on sitting down to your good meal;
It only tastes good if the delicacies are wounding.

The reaction comes so fast and furious
That I can't understand your motives
You're instantly on the defense, delerious
Blaming me for crushing your imaginary lotus.

I've felt low all my life and you can't change this
It's a sickness that I have to bear alone
The sooner we all stop thinking with our mental fists
The faster we can all remember how to go home.

Now i've waited for your wounded pride to heal
yet your message is harmful and still confusing
I've given up on sitting down to your good meal;
It only tastes good if the delicacies are wounding.
