Gentle sunlight filtering through the window
Body stretching to meet the new day
Night’s darkness is forced to finally go
Too early to have anything really to say

Turning toward the warmth of the light
Unsure that I'll embrace the new dawn
Unwilling now to give up the night
Wishing for comfort of sleep to go on

My eyes are struggling to open wide
Sweeping away wispy webs of a dream
Contentment at seeing you by my side
Bringing the light of day, it would seem

Heart pounding, in anticipation of your first touch
A smile plays on your lips, as if you know this
Longing, wondering, do you know I need you so much?
You know, leaning forward giving me a gentle kiss.
