A poem told by an old man talking to the younger generation
In light of recent events
Love has been banned
Life has been outlawed
Peace has been banished

The dark is all there is
Pressing and depressing
Lifting and then dropping
Cycle after cycle

But there are the few of us
Who understand it all
Who take up all the pieces
Who rebuild all that has fallen

I used to be that way
A genius, some may say
But that was long ago
And now all is slow

It's you I write this to
The strong ones and the fighters
Don't let them get to you
Make yourself the better

Time is up for me
Generation free
Who loves to laugh and glee
A bright day no more shall see.
