This poem is telling you why you shouldn't drink and drive. |
Silence Not even a sound Why is it so quiet When everyone’s around They saw them The couple of the year Even the most popular kids Gawked at their two peers The silence was envy Because this girl no one had seen She was the new girl And she hadn’t made an effort to be the most popular teen The couple entered the party Which was thrown on a whim He took off her coat Which put her on the popularity rim Everyone wondered “Why he was with her” But he just did it for free drinks And to make her feel unsure She wanted to make her mark In this new high school So she grabbed a drink as well Knowing that she was cool On the couple’s cue The party restarted And everyone grabbed a drink On the time charted There were a lot of drinks Margaritas and all And everyone looked like They were having a ball So the couple left Like something was accomplished Even though the party Was far from finished They got into his jeep Drunk and confused And got on the road And ended up being on the news They had died that night In a car accident nonetheless Because they were drunk driving And caused an awful mess Two others were killed as well Who were innocent and sober Caused by the drunk couple’s ride home And this news wasn’t what four families had hoped for I hoped you learned something From this story That if you drink and drive You will be sorry |
