Though my vision is blurred, I saw him clearly that night. (A very brief memory)
*Heart* prompt: I wanted you to stay with me forever. In a memory, I got my wish.

Forever This Way

This memory stayed with me, though you did not
Everything about it. I kept you this way.

I squinted at the horizontal patterns of light casted by the blinds
I was jelous
They wrapped themselves around you. They kissed without you stirring
Closer than I could get, still I tried.

I motioned for you in the stream of sheets
Now we both were held behind the bars of light
But, it was you who kept me captive.

I needed to take you in
I sent my fingers out for warm brown blurr
They played and danced along the zebra-like stripes collecting every stroke of the moment
To this day they paint across the canvas of my mind.

Still, touch was not enough if i were going to prove later, against my memory, that I witnessed us this way.

My lids tightened and my eyes strained
Glasses would be a crime now.

I drew nearer, discovering the image of you as the beautiful obscure came into focus
MY GOD! Thank you for this much vision!

Though it took me coming within a breathes travel of your neck
I wouldn't want to be further from you.

That night my kisses spoke a prayer my words could not
They pleaded you to stay forever.

In this way you will.
