An emotional look at child-abuse and how children display their fears. |
The shadow man comes in the night. He closes doors, turns off the light. A child is panicked, screams in fear Mommy! Daddy! Quick! He’s here! ................Hush now, child; I’ll hold you tight. ................I’m here with you. It’s alright. The shadows shift, the shadows crawl His shadow face is on my wall. The shadow whispers in the air His shadow fingers touch my hair. ................Hush now baby, please don’t cry ................You’ll feel better, by and by. Daddy! Hurry! Make him go! I don’t like him, don’t you know? Mommy! Hold me! Hold me tight! Shadows scare me late at night! ................Oh…….. I remember…….. My daddy’s gone; he went away. My mommy’s new friend came to stay. Then bad dreams started, shadows came. My daddy’s gone. Am I to blame? ................Hush now child and wipe your tears ................No more crying, no more fears. The shadows touch my hands, my face. The shadow touches everyplace. The shadow scares me, makes me scream. Does mommy know it’s NOT a dream? ................Hush now baby, don’t you see? ................Your mom’s not here, just you and me........ |
