The helicopter flew like...
The helicopter flew like a giant dragonfly in the light of the afternoon sun. From the opened doorway, I could see the enormous shadow into the ocean below. It looked like a large fish swimming with us underneath the waves…

“I think women are so sweet for a single night play…” Henderson said looking at the man in front of him.

“Yeah, they are like dolls…Women are dolls… Play with them all night, then dump, change, renew, try all the models available on the market…” Blackberry answered grinning at Henderson…

I stayed on the backseat inside the rotary aircraft listening to my soldiers. It is always surprising how men behave after war… I personally saw privates playing ping-pong in the base after a hard mission!

Henderson winked at me and asked:

“What do you think lieutenant?”

I looked at him for a while through my sunglasses. I was not sure what to answer… I smiled and said nothing… He continued:

“Can a man be fulfilled with the body of a single woman? Is a doll enough for a lifetime? “

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Suddenly I could not breathe because the steel bird begun to twirl in circles like a colossus seagull… Henderson hit the wall on his back while Blackberry managed somehow to fasten his seatbelt in the last moment! Looking outside I could not see the sun anymore… The phenomenal yell of the wind sounded like a rattlesnake …

Our bodies got heavier in the rapid descending…I could not make a single move; I remained flattened against the wall… The whopper bird continued to spin around so quick… Invisible arms kept us prisoners on the benches, helpless witnesses to the ongoing catastrophe …

“The tail rotor is down! We are hit!” We are hit!” A voice yelled somewhere in my back…

I strongly kept the hand on the grip while looking outside at the clouds. The ocean and the sun were dancing together into a mind-blowing tango… We were rotating rapidly over the deep blue waters beneath us…

“We are going down! We are going down!” The pilot voice faded away in the turbulent air…

Our bodies lost all the strength in the deadly twist. “The dragonfly is going to die…” I thought sadly while watching in slow motion the head rotors approaching the hydrosphere…

When the first propeller crashed into the ocean, a huge wall of water covered the sun in the sky! I could see the shattered airscrew submerging into the frothy waves!

The head of the dragonfly monster plunged into the seven seas; we all bumped into the seats with such a force that my brain blacked out instantly! I could only see the gloom in my eyes while going unconscious…

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

The coldness is slowly taking over the body. Chilly… When I open my eyes, the water is already at my neck. The helicopter sank into the ocean… I want to scream, to let the others know what happened… The cold fluid magically transforms the warning from my lips into an endless stream of bubbles… I want so much to pull away the safety belt from my body!

It is not yet late, I can still see the sun illuminating the sea, I may feel his divine warmth! Just for a moment and then it is gone… The light slowly disappears and the wave world immerses into the eternal darkness…My skin become ice-cold as in a winter day at minus twenty-two Fahrenheit…

The hands are fighting with the cords but I have no vigor left in me! I am as weak as a snowflake... I can touch the belt, I feel it with the fingers, but I cannot open it!

The steel fish is rapidly swimming to the bottom of the sea… The others are aware also; I perceive their struggle into the shivery waters… I hear their words into the depths of the ocean:

“Lieutenant…Lieutenant…” They all yell my name in cold sparkles...

“This time is over guys!” I answer them... I give up fighting; there is no more point to resist in front of such an enemy. The pressure is already killing my chest and ears... We cannot do anything more but die…

The leviathan metal fish is carrying us in a one-way ride to the ocean floor… I still have some air in the lungs. My eyes are wide open in the dark, but I cannot see anything. The brave warriors are quiet now. I do not hear my name spelled in the icy waters anymore. They are dead.

“Why I am still alive?” I wonder in the deepness…
“Maybe is because in your life months passed by like years… Or because you never smoked…” A voice answered my question.

I laugh in the algid water surrounding me. What an irony, I may wait death a few seconds more than smokers can. The time has come anyway, smoker or nonsmoker… Soon I will loose my breath forever…

“What is your last wish?” The voice echoes the ocean…

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Her image suddenly submerges into my mind! I FORGOT HER! I always wanted her…! One unexpected shock of electricity energizes my dead body!

I remember her there in the deepness of the ocean! I open my arms and… I LOVE HER so much! I start to shake violently, to tug into darkness like a fish on the night shore! My hands and legs are rampantly moving, trying to get out of the strings… The body is not weak anymore! In the ice-cold water, I begin to unfasten the seatbelt!

My mind is brutally short-circuited with memories of the past! I do not know the years, but I can recall her! In the depths of the seven seas, I remember my sweet love!

A thunderbolt discharges into the deep gloomy sea and helps me to decide what I want! Some cameras flash under water and I can visualize the stomach of the scrap fish! I see all my soldiers in darkness, hanged in their safety belts…

“A KISS… That is my last wish! I want to kiss her one more time!”

The mind says and then projects thousands of volts underneath my cold skin! I cannot die, not now! I look at her beautiful face; I can see my honey moving around as only she does! I want to touch, to smell her long hair at least once more! I cannot give up!

The blade is in my hand, I took the knife! Carefully, with my hands shaking continuously, I cut the safety belt! I slice through my rough cloths and my frozen skin… But I get out from the seat!

I swim away from the metal fish stomach into the ocean away! When my body is finally free, I cannot breathe a second more! The oxygen cells in my lungs are empty! The seawater commences to reverse in me! I choke with the ocean in my neck and surrender once more!

For good moments, I float away in the dark like a wreck… Then a thunder resounds and one enormous lightning flashes into my eyes! The water vibrates as if a scepter just struck from the sea heavens…

“ISIS! My beautiful goddess!” I scream and agonize in ice bubbles…

The dark waters become blue and her gorgeous smile appears on the ocean sky above me! I am swimming like a lunatic to her… My legs and hands strive uncontrollable for love… The water from the ocean floods my lungs but I do not care…

“If months pass like years… Seconds will go like minutes…”

My strong arms are pushing the ocean down where it belongs, into nothingness! I climb rapidly the infinite water wall around me! With her image in my heart, the body becomes weightless as a fluff and agile as a dolphin…

Incredible, I see again daylight into the wave! I feel the heat, the glare! The friendly sun, I gaze at his graciousness reflected into me! As a newborn child, I surface from the darkness into radiance!

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

I choke trying to breathe again in normal atmosphere. I am coughing violently, rejecting the seawater from my lungs. The fresh air is filling me slowly. I survived the chaos!

I can see the other fight helicopters hovering around the crash site… The soldiers are releasing ropes for me… I look surprised at the wings of the birds in the sky, near the sun…

Like in a dream, I am fished from the cold waters… I do not see correctly… I cannot hear anything and I shake like a leaf in the storm… After some time somebody is screaming in my ears:

“Lieutenant… You are ok? Everything is ok? Sir, there was an accident… The helicopter in your back fired accidentally at you… A disaster, one unfortunate catastrophe… ”

I do not answer… My mind and soul are dizzy… I hear the man continuing…

“Lieutenant… We are returning to base now; you have to see a doctor… The others are probably dead… It is a miracle you survived so long down there…”

I put my hands around his neck and scream…

“No, wait… No… I have to answer him…”

I go out on the landing skids of the helicopter that flutters in the air… Two men are keeping me not to fall again from the sky…. From the back of the dragonfly, I yell down to the ocean beneath…

“Henderson! Can you hear me? A woman may save your soul Henderson… One single girl can make you alive; may return you from the abyss… A woman is more than just a doll Henderson…Is much more than that brother…”
