This piece was the hardest for me to piece together, but I think it came along nicely...
Little cafe on the side of the road
All alone in the December cold
Regulars all left for vacation
Tourists making conversation
Sitting back in my corner booth
I see her in her high-heeled boots
Looking so scared, she's on her own
Said she needed to find a phone

He says "I love you!
Will you marry me?"
She stares in his eyes
But, she can't agree
She's just a drifter
Not meant to stay still
She's just a drifter
Livin' for the thrill

Three whole years pass by
Right in front of our eyes
Now she's back here again
But she's not with him
Orders a drink
And asks "Where's the sink?"
Looking so scared, but she's not on her own
Said she's looking to find a good home

He says, "Mommy, I love you!
Stay with me!"
She stares in his eyes
But, she can't agree
She's just a drifter
Not meant to stay still
She's just a drifter
Livin' for the thrill

Now that boy's grown up
And he's in love
It's his wedding day
She's ten minutes too late
She's at home
Cryin' on the phone
Says she can't
Go through with that

He says, "I love you!
Don't you leave me!"
She thinks of him now
But, she can't agree
She's just a drifter
Not meant to stay still
She's just a drifter
Livin' for the thrill
Just a drifter...
