This is just a little of something I have been working on. Please comment!!
When I was little, my mother and I used to lay in her big bed and read stories together. I remember the first story that I read to her and being so excited that I finally could read to my mommy the way she did to me. She used to tell me that a story was like looking into a pond at your reflection. It was just a blurry image of the real thing.

My mother's name was Katherine Sue Martin, which I found to be the prettiest name in the whole world. She always had a quick smile for her friends who called her Kat and her eyes always seemed to match her smile.

The day that I graduated from college her smile seemed to light up her entire face. Nothing made me happier in the world than to see her face like that. I spent the majority of my life attempting to make her smile like that again. She loved dragonflies so I used to save up my money to buy her little dragonfly trinkets. Once I got her a beautiful little glass dragonfly that she said was so lovely that she put it on the bookshelf in our living room for everyone to see.

Sometimes it seemed like my entire purpose in life was to make her smile like that. Every Christmas, birthday, & Valentines day I tried so hard to find the perfect gift for my mother. She was the hardest person in the world to shop for because she honestly never wanted anything. Once when I asked her waht she wanted for Mother's day, she proclaimed that all that she wanted was to be with me.

That was mainly why I decided to move back to my home town of Somerset, Ky after I had gotten my master's degree from Transylvania University. It wasn't a difficult decision for me, after all, I had always wanted to live close to home and my mother. She was all that I had in the world. It would also be beneficial while I got my feet on the ground and my career rolling, to be near her.
