This is a personal poem dedicated to the Virgin Mary. |
Santa Maria By Hasan Shabbaz The times were depraved An era of corruption The rule of subjugation Our souls, were in decay You came, to show the way. No one on earth was sane People killed and maimed Over and over, and then again One mortal, the other betrayed With you, the world would be saved. Each mortal would crave For the others partner The mighty would enslave The weak, always in danger. We fought for possession, for might We loved, only obsession and vice Out went, all the light In came, the plagues, and lice. The earth, was consumed with greed Every mortal, was a mini-satan The earth, life would bleed And hatred, abounded in every nation. But almighty God chose you, Mary For you were pure in spirit And in heart, we know it Nothing compares, not even a fairy. For Virgin Mary was on the path The one David saved from Goliath For Virgin Mary was a supreme believer While every other sage a deceiver For Virgin Mary was free from greed No jealousy, no spite, no monetary greed. But look at the us all now It reminds you of your time When all prayed to be famous And all enjoyed crime Don’t you recognize something? Look at us all now We pray and then abuse Every word is explosive now Say it and we light a fuse Don’t you recognize something? Someday I will leave in peace The eternal peace, the rest Then I will not need to weep The eternal peace, the rest And you will see us all Our Virgin Mary. Copyright by Hasan Abdulla, 05/2006 |
