Overcome

I am overcome
with love
with pain
with grief and anger
and all these things
with no name.

I am stricken
I am torn
apart by extremes
brought low by shadow forms
that I cannot see.

I have been worn down
to the core of my soul,
stripped of wispy dreams
that I thought could make me whole.

At the end,
at the bottom where it's empty
and too dark to see
I gasp a breath and realize
I still have me.
