The moon bridge of silver lay
From shore to shore across their bay
A bridge from their souls that touched the stars
All through that night just a fragile light, their bridge of silver on blue.
By early dawn he knew too well his life’s one love was lost to him again
She was so young, vibrant and bright but so fragile like the pale moonlight
It was best for her to let her go and so ensure she would never know
How he truly loved her so.
Now on every starry night his tears flow in the silver light
And he wonders if, when she looks to the sky,
Does his love remember that fragile moonlight
As it lit both shores throughout that night.
