Writen for a contest. It's about a school shooting. |
Anna walked through school, clutching her books. She ignored everyone laughing and gossiping with their friends. Why do they have friends? Anna fidgeted though class, tapping her pencil. She stared at the clock, waiting for the hands to make the magic angle at 3:00. Now I don’t have to watch them. Anna bolted to her car, jamming the keys in. She sped off, unwilling to watch the rest of the student body laugh and have fun. We’ll see how they fell when I’m done. Anna raced past her mother, ignoring the standard question. She didn’t want to tell that prissy woman how her day was. Can’t she see what’s going on? Anna threw her bag on the bed, reaching under the bed. She pulled out a box, opening the lid to reveal the instrument she’d chosen. It’s not fair at all. Anna strolled into the school, hiding something in her pocket. She pulled her hand from her pocket, aiming into the crowd. Their time has come. Anna listened to them, screaming their heads off. She twitched her finger, thinking about the sweet release that would come soon. Do they really want to know why? Anna pulled the trigger, killing the prom queen. She turned her aim onto the football captain, squeezing off another round. If I can’t be happy… Anna watched them both fall, laughing with happiness. She twisted towards another group, grinning while they scrammed away from her. …then no-one can be. Anna turned the shining metal to herself, placing it against her temple. She smiled an ecstatic smile, squeezing the trigger. Justice has been served…* |
