A character description for my story, Exile.
Nikotye

Nikotye was a 17-year-old native American from the Mingo tribe which settled in Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia. She was a beautiful young girl, slim, willowy but strong. She was small breasted with wide hips that swayed gently when she walked. Her feet and hands were small as common to the women in her tribe. She was about five feet two inches tall and weighed about 112 pounds. Her skin was a combination of gold and reddish brown, a color much like the skin color of the mulato, Negro mixed with white, but a bit more reddish brown. Her cheek bones were slightly sharp giving her an exotic look, like the oriental, but her eyes were big and rounded and dark brown.

She was the daughter of the brother of the tribal chief and his wife who was the daughter of another chief who died in a skirmish with the Powhatans, another tribe in the area, years before. She had three brothers and no sisters.

She was a gifted medicine woman, being taught the skills by her grandmother from the time of her early youth. She was learning how to choose and sort herbs before she could talk. She also knew the skills to maintain a home for a husband and knew child birthing and child rearing skills. She assisted her mother from time to time in midwifery, delivery of difficult births.

She was intelligent and quick witted and also quick on her feet. She was pleasant in nature, not prone to sadness or bitterness of any kind. She smiled a lot and generally was pleasant and loved by her family and friends.

Her goals in life were simple, to marry and have children, be a good wife and continue to help her mother in healing and caring for others.
