I wrote this after losing a member of my family. |
Isn't Death a funny fellow? He takes people's lives Away from them: Their family, their job, Everything they worked for; And they cannot stop him. Sometimes people wish for Death to take them away, But it never does, so they Try to bring him about By slashing their wrists, jumping Off bridges, and so on. Most of the time they are Able to succeed, going to Hell. But there are times when Death just isn't interested, And doesn't show his Gruesome face - yet. And then there are those Who want to live a long life, And plan everything right Down to the last detail. Along comes Death and in A heartbeat, they die young. Sometimes I wish Death on Other people, but later am Glad Death did not find them. Or others wish Death on me, But he has as of yet Been able to find me. Death is not prejudiced. He takes people from every Age and walk of life; White, black, red, and brown; Old, young, sick, and well; Men, women and children. There is no way to keep Death Away, to keep him from taking Your children, your parents; But we can cheat him, Now and then, with medicine, Miracles, or God. Evil is Satan's handmaiden, Sickness is his servant, and Death is his lover - Evil entertains her master, Sickness pleases him, and Death brings ultimate happiness. That is not to say that all Souls are meant for Hell, But that it is what gives Satan his joy and pleasure. Most souls however, belong To Heaven and God Eternal. In this way, Satan is cheated. His lover takes away people's Life and material goods. But God and The Lamb Give them new Life, Thus cheating Beelzebub. Isn't Death a funny fellow? He takes away everything That they lived for. God then takes in their Souls, and gives them Everything they died for. |
