An amusing little poem for Poetic Paradise Daily Challenge.
I went to get my mail today
And found the strangest thing
A tiny little fairy
With a broken little wing

She sat upon my letters
Tears fell from her eyes
She said the mailman hit her
As she rested there inside

I asked her, "Why my mailbox?"
"It was raining," she replied
"You'd left it partly open,
so I sought shelter here inside."

I gently took her in my hand
And brought her in the house
My cat became excited
Thinking that she was a mouse

I sat her on the counter
And asked what I could do
She said she needed coffee
It would heal her through and through

I brewed a pot of Sanka
And poured some in a bowl
She drank out of it daintily
Voila! It made her whole

She thanked me most profusely
And offered me one wish
I thought about it carefully
As I washed the dish

I wished for lots of money
I didn't make it clear
A heavy burlap bag
Suddenly appeared

The fairy flew off quickly
When I opened up the sack
It was full of Russian Rubles
"Hey, fairy! Please come back!"
