A prose piece on the congegal bed after a breakup
Lights out
And in our bed
I am afloat in a pre-sleep halcyon haze.
There,
He waits.

Hard with...
anticipation.

His fingers claw through my matted hair.
His white tongue laps at my tear-clogged pores,
their salt pumping the wells of his coital thirst.
The gnawing authority of his lips and teeth
flush my nipples crimson...
and hail him in salute.

I'm moist in my misery.

False hope is afloat
When he’s halfway down my throat.
Solicitous promises pledged in rhythm
with my symphonic sucking.

Thick and rancid with cowardice,
his come pools on my belly

branding me...

I knead my clitoris into full meals,

Sustenance.

For a memory trodden life...
to be lead apart.

I scream in a climax of stagnation.

The ecstasy of my loneliness penetrates me
deeper than he ever could.

All protestations are but echoes,
bouncing off the pregnant emptiness
of our exploited bedroom walls.

I fuck his ghost because,

It is the only way I can fall asleep anymore.
