It’s dark again,

inside there's pain.

The voices within,

hiding in my brain.

Memories within,

this brain of mine.

Won’t go away,

always screaming in my mind.

Haunts within,

no one can see.

Nightmares deep,

inside of me.

There's many characters,

inside that I hear.

No comforting comments,

I sadly fear.

Therapists, Medications,

Shock Treatments and more,

These voices within,

I truly abhore.

I have been told,

the voices that hide.

Are parts of me,

they hide deep inside.

The personalities are screaming at me,

before they pop.

They have had enough pain,

they want it to stop.

But there is one inside that I truly do fear,

who is so very evil and mad.

She scares and terrifies even me,

because she is so horribly bad.

She likes to hurt me,

to cause me much pain.

She scratches off my skin,

till I'm in the hospital once again.

I need to find the right ones help,

to learn to deal.

I need to find the personality,

the one to heal.

My therapist told me the way,

during one session.

The pathway to take scares me,

and fills me with tension.

I will need to think differently,

I will need to be tough.

When my mind finally decides,

that I have had enough.

When I have made my decision,

and want them to end.

Deep within my own mind,

there is a special friend.

This special friend inside,

will help me to mend.

She’ll offer me hope,

there’s light past this last bend.

Your question is,

which one is she?

The answer is,

she is the current me.
