A Dark Room


We were in a dark room,
not just me and you.
But also all our friends,
spread out across the room.

We were all just playing games,
making scary sounds in the dark.
When we would all laugh,
from you, there’d be no remark.

In the full room, dark as the night,
I could feel your gaze on me.
It didn’t seem to make much sense,
since you could barely see.

Suddenly, I felt your hand,
gently brush my cheek.
You slightly turned my head,
and my knees felt really weak.

You held onto my arms,
and put your lips to mine.
In that point in time,
I saw Heaven’s shine.
