Eyes burning, heart screaming in agony,
I wandered around, walking aimlessly,
Intruding upon the tranquil scene,
Wishing my life could be as it had been.
Crunching leaves beneath my feet,
Devoid of hope, head bowed in defeat,
A gentle breeze blew my hair,
As I wondered whether this pain I could bear.
I walked on in a painful daze,
Enveloped in the mystic aura of Dusk's saffron haze,
Cold fingers caressed my face,
The pain ebbed away, a quiet calm took its place.
I gazed up at the slender, naked trees,
Reliving one of those true mysteries,
For an eternal comfort the thought brings,
However long the winter, there will come a spring,
Always follows triumph after a strife,
That's the way of nature, the way of life.
