A brief look into our push and pull relationship with God.
NEAR SIDE OF FAR

The year of jubilee is alive inside my heart
Yet the sins that betray a trust, always play their part.
And at last the delicate gift has been given.
Yet, the bread is tired as it is fed here to the living.

A fruitful land I feel that we will find.
Not left to wonder or break the stitches of our time.
Condemned to spies, rebellion and sickening crimes.
There’s no wine or festival that can even ease our minds.

As lonely as the trials and tribulations are.
Keep your vows to God - place no vengeance on your heart.
Let us try to stay on the near side of the far.
As broken as it seems you’ve had the milk and honey from the start.

I sing a song of Faith and of Love
A song that is bright like the stars up above
Let no man stand between us and Him
Shine silly diamond - shine again and again.

And this feast you find in the sanctuary of his love.
Is butchered by your own will and the failure to look up.
You can yell and scream - ‘bring down the power from above”
And the sun and moon may stand still, but its only by his blood.

Regardless of the kings and nations you divide.
There’s no territory you can explore or place you can hide.
Where you will be kept awake and alive.
Without his grace and his mercy to sustain you inside.

You and I are worthless, broken, disobedient fools.
Looking for a victory without sacrifice and rules.
Stubborn and riddled by the ways of our choice.
Insane in the ways that we try to dodge his voice.

I sing a song of Faith and of Love
A song that is bright like the stars up above
Let no man stand between us and Him
Shine silly diamond - shine again and again.
