Hole

Today I was caught out in the sun,
Lying and stealing for fame and fun,
Without my beloved, not a single one,
But now my faster days are done.

My spirit was pulled down in the street,
And beaten at realities feet,
No obligation would I run to meet,
Change is the warden I now greet.

I sing and dance in my lonley cell,
Not knowing how far down I fell,
Cast away what I know so well,
And find some peace in the depths of hell.

Accepting capture by my own hand,
So hard with the doubts that I command,
Control slips my fingers like fine dry sand,
As well as the peace I cry for, and demand.

If I could shake these prison walls,
Would I be granted release?
Even bound by lifes cold shackles,
I'll try to find some peace.

Beyond these wall may lie a better day,
But without content, in this hole I'll stay.
