The Journey

We walked over mountains
and down through the fields

You licked my wounds
until they were healed

We came to a river
I misheard what you asked

I thought you said
"wait here while i go up ahead"

But to my surprise you
rendevouzed with someone else instead

I saw you from across that bridge
no apologies as you poured the gas

Right away I began
the construction of a raft

But I smashed it on the rocks
and I swear I could feel you laugh
