My heart and broken emotions lie shattered at my feet, and not
lightly I tread upon them as I slowly ascend in my retreat

Back into the darkness that I clutch at as I roam
This cold embrace of emptiness

The place that I may run to when I'm scared and don't understand
Why can't I just cut myself open and lie in the palm of your hand

Love is the thing of tales, But deeply it has been embedded in me
But fear is the conquer of all when I cannot clearly see
